Get rid of the old
Boxes bursting with random wadded-up papers, free letter openers, and key chains from conferences you’ve attended, and last year’s Christmas cards must go.
Spring cleaning is the perfect excuse to finally clear out old clutter and get to the chores around the office that you’ve been putting off–and if you work from a home office, your spouse or roommate will be just as pleased with the result as you.
Some cleaning tasks you might not have done in a while:
- Wipe down the walls
- Clean the windows
- Dust the furniture
- Clean out the refrigerator
- Clean out your coffee maker
Change something small with a big impact
The color of the walls (or one wall, if you’d prefer) provides a big statement and impact that gets noticed but isn’t overwhelming. Add more plants around the office to infuse the green colors from outside into the building and to keep everyone feeling refreshed.
Allow employees to wear headphones in 20-minute segments throughout the day to improve productivity. You don’t have to make a big change to make a big impact.
Update your technology
Your old desktops may be trusty but aren’t going to perform the way you need them to. Updating the office technology will give everyone who works in the office a boost as well–better technology makes their jobs easier, too.
